One of our foster Danes, Digz came to us with an awful fear of getting his claws cut. So much so that he is fearful even of people touching his paws.

These pictures demonstrate how we kindly & gently, using positive association and patience, got him accustomed to having his paws touched, then introducing the clippers just by sight, then lightly touching his paw, then touching a claw etc.

It is very important to note that at no time was Digz held down, tethered or forced into position. He was free to move away whenever he felt he had had enough.

His progress demonstrates how receptive even the most difficult dog is to positive but kind reconditioning.
